A secret ended up in something the agent wrote
Corpole masks what it recognises as a secret before storing it. Rotate the secret anyway.
What happened
A token or password was pasted into the chat, and the agent was about to put it into a record or a comment.
Why it happens
Agents copy what they are given. A value in the conversation can end up anywhere the agent writes.
What Corpole does
- Masks recognisable secrets in everything an agent writes to Corpole before it is stored.
- Tells agents, as a locked rule, never to write secrets or personal data into records.
What you do
- Treat the secret as exposed and rotate it; masking lowers the risk, it does not undo the paste.
- Check the record the agent wrote and remove anything masking did not catch.
Keep it from happening again
- Never paste secrets into an agent chat; keep them in the environment.
