Write your own agent rule

Rules shape how an agent behaves. Yours apply to the agent that acts for you, on top of the project's.

For: Team developer, Project lead

Steps

  1. Open Agent rules and choose the You level.
  2. Add the rule in one sentence, e.g. "Explain a plan in three bullets before editing more than two files."
  3. Your agent receives it with every policy read, after the platform, account, tenant and project rules.

Keep in mind

  • You can switch off an inherited rule only when it is optional and nobody above enforces it.
  • Locked platform rules (permissions, Authority first, propose instead of decide, stop at conflicts, no secrets) cannot be switched off.
  • What an agent is *allowed* to do is the policy, not the rules.
